November & THANKSGIVING

November & THANKSGIVING

November has been an inspiring month after I thought about some people and things that I really loved. I found an inspiring quote by Oprah Winfrey and her words really touched the deepest part of my heart. Oprah Winfrey explains, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” To be completely honest, each part of the sentence is precise. When we put this into our daily lives, we can notice the true strength and meaning of this statement.

Countless items would be on my list of what I am thankful for. My parents are always there to support me and encourage me to keep moving forward. My sisters can keep me crazy and laughing. With my elder sister, I can get help and share things. However, my younger sister is really funny and can really drive me crazy. Each of my two sisters keeps me going here and there. Truthfully, the 1,000 piece puzzles really work my brain out and it’s fun making them. The water bottle that I can take anywhere keeps me super hydrated. Each day, I come to sit on a comfy seat tucked in a big desk allowing me to have a designated place to work. Most of all, I am thankful for my bed that I can sleep on. Oh! And I love my cake pans in which I can make the best cakes ever. If you flip the words cake pans around, you get pancakes. I love my mom’s oatmeal pancakes in the morning that fill up my stomach. Giving me shelter, warmth, coziness, happiness, and protection, I am extremely thankful for a house to live in each day.

Sometimes, even the littlest things can make you happy. When I went back to my list, I really felt something when I got to the point where I saw that on one of the days, I was thankful for light. Being the first Muslim Noble Laureate, Dr. Abdus Salam grew up without lighting. He sat in the streetlights and studied at night. GOOGLE. Google is an important part of each person’s life. The discovery of this technology, the internet, and search engines has changed today’s society. Furthermore, devices such as Alexa for Amazon, Google home by Google, and Siri by Apple have brought a further change into this current life and especially during this pandemic. Many people use these devices to ask questions, set alarms, timers, calculations, notes, shopping lists, music, games, find places, and much more.

November should definitely be named the month of thanks and giving. Overall, if most people made lists of what they were thankful for, it would be really long. All around November, I’ve learned that being thankful is very important, not just in the month of November but all around the year. Being ungrateful or not thankful will never make someone content with what they already have. Instead, they will look at things that they want rather than need. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL! Don’t forget to be thankful!
