Social media today, as we know it, is affecting kids in many ways. While it can have some positive effects, the negative effects weight heavier when scaled. As a result of this, there are some actions that need to be taken to ensure that social media has a positive impact on its users.

Violence (Malcolm X) vs. Non-Violence (Martin Luther King Jr.)

Did you know that Malcolm X was a minister and an activist? Most of us don’t know that because he protested with violence. Martin Luther King Jr., also known as MLK Jr., was also a minister and an activist, and is famous because of his nonviolent protests. MLK Jr. and Malcolm X did the same thing but had different ways to do it. And that’s what set forth the difference between these two men. Malcolm X was a person who valued and accepted other differences, acknowledged and fought racism, and appreciated non-violence and equality, just like Dr. King.

He watched as she fell down from the chair and hit her head on the refrigerator door. She tried again and again, but her efforts were all in vain. You say goodbye to your friends and continue walking home. A girl comes up to you and asks you to drink. You should say no and walk away. You continue your journey home, and see your best friend’s brother. He comes up to you, and asks you to have a beer. You can give him an excuse or reason to say no, and continue on home. Finally outside your door, one of your old friends who is now a user, asks you to smoke. Just say no and change the subject. Play a game of basketball or something else instead.
