The Correlation Between Math & Science

MATH & SCIENCE IN OUR DAILY LIVES as Core subjects

As we all know, both Math and Science are core subjects which are taught to students. These subjects play an important role in our daily lives. And that’s basically what a core subject is.

Many ways in which math and science are related are also reasons to why they are core subjects.  Have you ever noticed that when you are cooking or baking something you are using science? Or did you ever notice that when you go to the bank, you are using Math? You probably don’t notice. The “science” behind this is when your brain is so focused on what you’re doing, it doesn’t even notice the things like this. The other reason is because we have so much science and math arounds us that we don’t even notice it.

Now let’s go back to see how science and math are in our daily lives. When you are baking or cooking, you’re actually doing Chemistry. By the way, Chemistry is a part of Science. The other example was when we go to the bank. When you go to the bank you’re actually using math. When you do a little bit of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. They’re all part of math Let’s move on to learn more and more!!!!

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THEM BOTH

As I said before most of reasons are also the reasons to why they are core subjects. The whole concept I explained when I talked about them both being core subjects was also a correlation between the two of them: Math & Science. I would also to explain how math can be how Math can be in Science but Science cannot be Math.

We’ve heard a lot about from the adults, teachers, Scientists, Mathematicians, etc. that Math and Science are subjects that pair up. They both just go together. But there’s just one misunderstanding. That’s the actual point I want to explain today. The misconception is that Math can be in Science but, Science CANNOT be in Math. Now you’re probably confused with what I mean by saying this. Unless, maybe you’re a great math or science genius or whatever!

Let me really explain this to you. So, when we do Math, your teacher tells you to do problems in Math and obviously your math teacher has lots of problems. And, when you get to science class, your teacher gives you a lecture about waves, and chemistry. But do they ever tell you that Math is correlated with Science? If not, I am here today to tell you!

When you are an astronaut or you have a profession in Science, Math comes in. You have to measure how long the circle window will be using circumference and radius. You could also measure how long the magnetic force of a magnet is or something like that. And that’s how you use Math in Science.

Again, you can’t do any Science in Math. Unless you’re finding out how does the formula length x width work for multiplication. But, that wouldn’t be Science in Math either. That’s just explaining how it works. I hope you understand the point I’m trying to make here.

So just keep in mind that when you are cooking, baking, or going to the bank, you are using Math and Science. Next time you bake, explain what I just told you to your friends, siblings, children, etc. Just remember Science and Math is all around us

A few quotes about Math and Science

Math

“Life is a Math equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to convert negatives into positives.” -Unknown

“Mathematics may not teach us how to add love or minus hate. But it gives us every reason to hope that every problem has a solution.” – Unknown

“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.” -Paul Halmos

science

“The whole science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking.” -Albert Einstein

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein

“Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing our curiosity.” -Tim Minchin
