Medgar evers Facts

Medgar Evers was a Civil Rights Activist. He was born on July 2, 1925 in Decatur, Mississippi. He had 4 siblings as well as a mom and dad. He graduated high school at age 17 and joined the U.S Army. After he married Myrlie Beasley, they had 3 children. He fought in World War II. After the war, Medgar Evers went to college and applied for the University of Law School but was denied. He got a job in the NAACP as the First Field Secretary in Mississippi. He won the Spingarn Medal and investigated 3 crimes. The first was about Emmett Till’s murder.  Medgar Evers’ house was bombed a few months before he was assassinated. His funeral was led in full military honor.
