Quick and Fun Family Games to Try Out in Your Spare Time
Hi Guys!!! I think that it’s about time that I share some of my FAVORITE family games with you. These are games we could play EVERYDAY if someone would make them . . . ð
Anyways, here is number one.
01. Name, Place, Animal, Thing. (The paper version.)
TO MAKE: So this is a spin-off of the popular online game, “Name, Place, Thing, Animal.” Basically all you have to do is take a paper and split it into 5 sections. Label the first section NAME, the second PLACE, and so on. (I have also included a template by Slideshare below if needed . . .)
TO PLAY: To play the game, have someone quietly say the alphabet, and say stop at a random moment. Whatever letter the person is at is the letter that will be used to play. Then, everyone writes down two things in each section that they can think off, starting with that letter. When one person is done, they count to 50, and everyone must stop.
TO SCORE: Once finished, everyone goes around, one section at a time, saying the things written down. For every unique, or different item on the list, the player gives themself 10 points. If one item on the list is common between two people, then both players give themselves 5 points. At the end of each round, the players add up the points. The rounds are then repeated a couple of times. When the game is ended, everyone adds up ALL the points, and the player with the highest score wins.
Add a twist to this game! Instead of four categories, increase the number to six, seven, or even eight. Normally, when I play, we have categories; NAME, PLACE, THING, ANIMAL, FRUIT/VEGGIE, MOVIES/SPORTS/T.V. SHOWS, AND POINTS. Some other ideas are SONGS, SPORTS STARS/PLAYERS, CELEBRITIES, SUBJECTS, BOOKS, INSTRUMENTS, ETC. What other categories can YOU come up with? Let me know in the comment box below!!!
02. Paper Telephone (Still sticking with paper ð)
So at least we’ve ALL played telephone before. If not, first do that, and then come back here to see level 2 of that game. Okay to start off, this is a really fun game, and be prepared for a serious case of the sillies. You may be laughing your head off when this game is over . . . Anyways, let’s get over to how to play.
HOW TO MAKE: You don’t really need to make anything.
Okay, okay . . . what to get.
WHAT TO GET: You absolutely need to get a paper, a pen/pencil, and some friends to play with.
HOW TO PLAY: To start off, pick a person who will start the game. Have them draw a quick drawing, and then have them pass it off to the next person. The next person writes a sentence describing the drawing, and then folds the drawing of the previous person so that the next player cannot see the original. The next player in line draws an image/doodle according to the sentence, description of the second player. They then fold the sentence of the second player and pass the paper on. Keep repeating this cycle until the everyone has had a turn OR after you have done a few rounds.
HOW TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED: In the end, show the first drawing to everyone, and the last drawing/sentence. Watch the reaction! If wanted, go through all the steps and see where the “mistake” was. A good laugh is always a great way to end the day. ð . . . ð . . . âïļ . . . ð .
