Salat

Did you know how we get everything? The clothing, the shoes, food to eat, and water to drink. Where does everything come from? Well, it all comes from prayer. Have you ever been thankful to Allah the almighty for all this? Today we will briefly talk about the importance of Salat, the benefits of it, and what Promised Messiah (as) and our present beloved huzur (aba) says about it.

Why is Salat important ? Well, most importantly because you are talking to Allah the almighty. It is just a way to thank Allah for all he has given you. This includes your family, your homes, your clothes, and everything you can think about. Allah forgives your sins and gives you more. These are two benefits of Salat. Hazrat Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, relates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “You should offer Tahajjud Prayer regularly as this way the way of earlier saintly persons and this way to achieve nearness to God. Furthermore, this habit ( of offering Tahajjud Prayer) safeguards from sins, repels evil, and protects from physical afflictions.”

As we all know, salat is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. In the Holy Quran chapter 29 verse 46 its says,” Surely prayer restrains one from indecency.”In chapter 31 verse 18 as Hazrat Luqman helped his son, the first thing he said was,”O my dear son! observe Prayer.” This shows us how important prayer is. It was the first thing that came to Hazrat Luqman’s mind; to tell his son to observe prayer.

Now we will talk about what our beloved leaders have told us about salat. Our present beloved huzur said,” Don’t emphasize on chandabut emphasize on salat. Chanda will come automatically.” On a trip to Fiji , a tsunami was heading toward them. Huzur said that in this condition pray.as in sajdah, everyone prayed. The news showed that suddenly by the grace of Allah the tsunami turned away and headed the other way. Promised Messiah said,” Man cannot attain nearness to Allah unless he performs prayer it behoves to do so.”

Allah the almighty says,” Establish Prayer.” May allah enable us all to pray and succeed. May he enable us to achieve our goals through prayer. My he show us acceptance of prayer throughout our life. May allah show us incidents like how the tsunami turned away. Today we can all promise to pray at the right because now we know why salat is important, its benefits, and what huzur and Promised Messiah said about it. Ameen.
